We got up very early when we saw the sunrise (a rare event in the far northwest!) to drive to Loch Assynt and were rewarded with this scene. Comments and criticisms are, as usual, very welcome. Thanks for your time and for looking in.
A big thank you to Dave87 for his UA on The Auld Bothy - it made my day!

wonderful ... I really must see this wonderful place
Wonderful image Ann, well worth getting up early to see and capture.

Excellent composition Ann, and the conditions are almost perfect. The low sun giving some great sculpting to the land and the snow lifts the shadows.

Gorgeous
All too often I admire trees lit from one side like this and never bother stopping to grab a shot. And so cool that they're all on a little island type thing!
What's really special about this scene is the contrast between the warm glow in the foreground and the white crispness at the back.
Very well captured, Ann ![]()

Super contrasts: dark greens and white snow, with lovely light on the tree trunks.

Beautiful image with lovely side lighting on the trees and mountains Ann.

Wonderful early morning image.. Perfect light and composition.. Super
Loch Assynt fairly tugs at the heart strings Ann, nothing quite like see in snow on the land up here. It's been a good while since I've managed further north than Ullapool and the wonderful mountains of Assynt. Maybe soon with luck, keep them coming my friend, marvellous sight.

Such stunning scenery Ann, this is a breathtakingly beautiful part of the country and you've definitely done it justice here
