While we were in Assynt, I drove the ten minutes from the crofthouse to Loch Druim Suardalain on the one good evening we had to find this beautiful light over the loch and over Canisp (the hill shown) and Suilven (more later) - and was lucky to find the moon too. We're just back, so I'll catch up with everybody's work tomorrow.
Criticisms and comments are very welcome - and thanks for looking in.

Amazing how far you can see into the distance - great to have the moon and reflection in the shot - glad you got one good evening ![]()

Helen
yeah! you are back!!
and what a beauty to start off with
look forward to your uploads
I've got used to the curved reeds that appear against cold blue Highland water in Dougie's uploads, straight reeds give a very different feel. Almost like pen-strokes.
This is really beautiful Ann. It captures the clean, bracing air and light perfectly.

Welcome back, Ann!
The air looks clearer, the light better and the snow whiter than we have experienced recently. Very beautiful.
And looking forward to more!
Regards
Bill
Welcome back Ann, and what a lovely image to bring back with you. Hope there are many more.

Welcome back! I don't do a lot of landscapes, but I can spot a good one. Very nice this - lovely exposure throughout, nice reflections and the moon as a bonus.
Anne
Stunning image Ann, great composition and light, first class image.

A beautiful landscape Ann, excellent composition, colours and light. I've seen this location a number of times in Sue R's portfolio and you've definitely done it justice here
A "wish I was there" image, so beautiful Ann, and those trees stand out so well against the subtle background, with Canisp to the side, The White Mountain. I particularly like the light on the reeds, and the way they break up the reflection, it makes me stop and look again. The moon and its reflection are the icing on a magnificent cake.
Nice to see you back Ann. A beautiful image to herald your return. Love the light and clarity (no haze or pollution up there)

A striking image... Crisp and clear. Wonderful reflection including the moon... Excellent work as always
One of Scotland's little gems, tucked away so close to the quiet bustle of Lochinver but jut far enough away to be silent and still as you wander along the singe track road and drink in the beauty. My first visit in 2004 is as fresh as this image, a place you don't ever forget The essence of Assynt in one little loch, and Canisp and Suilven sitting proudly behind. There will be some more from here Ann I'm sure of that.
Welcome back my friend, you've been well missed.
Dougie
Glad to see you back with such a fantastic picture. Hope there is more to come
Quote: Ann, this is WONDERFUL -- even without the moon and then I see the moon and the reflection of the moon and it pushes this one into the SUPERB category.
Wow. Nicely done.

Do you have info on how long of an exposure you used?
Thanks for your enthusiastic response Walter!! ![]()
The exposure was 1/40 sec at f/16. ISO 100 - with a tripod.
