Part of a ruined croft house on Harris, Outer Hebrides taken in July this year. We were due to go up to Scotland today, but as Christopher's knee is giving him gyp, we've cancelled our trip. The worst of it was that we were due to meet up with Dougie (scottishlandscapes) for a day's togging, but sadly that won't happen either!
A big thank you to andylea for his UA for The big bite and thank you for your time and comments. As usual - criticisms and suggestions are welcome.

Sorry to hear you've had to pit off your trip, Ann........so disappointing for you both.
Give my regards to Chris.....I hope it all settles down soon for him.
And a lovely study of the tones and textures in the decaying roof and stonework.
There are lots of crumbling homesteads on Lewis and Harris.......suppose due to migration to the mainland in search of employment.
Regards to both.
Ronnie.

Shame about the cancelled trip but I can empathise about knackered knees! I just love ruins as a photographic subject so of course I love this.

Superb colour/tones in the stone, in particular. It will still be there when the metal roof has succumbed completely to the dreaded tin-worm. The pov is unusual and has given you a fine composition too.

Best wishes to Christopher for a swift recovery. It's a shame to cancel a holiday, but knees come first - as mine are starting to remind me Smile

Regards
Bill

Rusty corrugated iron is as much a part of the northern British landscape as the stone walls.
Sorry to hear about Christopher's knee. We are all suffering natural wear and tear, I suspect.

Unusual and very effective pov, Sue. Whose shoulders were you standing on to take this?Wink
Disappointing as the cancellation is, you can comfort yourself in the knowledge that the wonderful nature will still be there for you next time.

Shame about the trip, Ann. I was a bit worried this was an image of your accommodation on the North Yorkshire Moors!! Congratulations on the website Smile, knocked my Nepalese girl into runner up spot. Look forward to seeing the site when it's up and running.

What a shame your trip is cancelled. I could've gone instead if you'd've let me know. Wink
Love the colour of the roof - so unusually peach.

With a little sprucing up this would make a fine cottage. I'm surprised they haven't been bought up. Your POV makes this image work.

A rather stunning rusty composition, which I am sure will get the rust spotters hearts racing. Love the colour, form and shape of the roof, simply quite unique.
