So annoying that this lovely green fly (is it a bluebottle?) landed on a michaelmas daisy with a broken petal! But, I loved the colours so much that I decided to go ahead and upload it!
Thanks for looking and for your time - comments and criticisms are welcome.

It has a lot of charm despite the broken petal, Ann, and the fly's iridescence is beautifully captured.

Unlike your very pretty little fly, you were wearing a black jacket at Brenzett... ![]()

Lovely colour contrast here, and good use of shallow dof.
I do love to see the odd damaged petal; it reminds me that I have a few of my own ![]()

Beautiful image Ann, fabulous colours and excellent detail, quite stunning

Tremendous image and all the more so with a zoom lens too. Flowers keep becoming to me, maybe sooner than I had planned.

Dof is spot on, Ann, sharp, well composed and the colour of the fly is the cream.

I'm no macro expert that ticks all the boxes and more for me, Ann. Superb.

LOL...when I first looked at the image before reading your descrip, I went, "Oh-hoooh my goodness" at what a grand shot it is. Timing-wise, colour-wise...and c'mon...that fly!!
Then I read your descrip.
Ann, I can't speak for everyone but that broken petal is COMPLETELY inconsequential. You've captured Nature at its best - the pairing of two beauts ![]()
