Hi everyone, hope you're all keeping well. We're just back from the New Forest with a few nice pic's to share with you. Would've liked more time actually taking pictures, but never mind, we're likely to be back there in the Spring.
These shots where taken just as the Sun had risen and just about to melt all the lovely Frost. In V3 you can just about make out the Vapor rising from the damp Wood. However, some parts of the Forest stayed Frosty for some time, as the Sun didn't warm the ground til much later in the Morning.
Hope you enjoy these, as I have another set of three to upload on Thursday.
A big thanks to all who voted and kindly commented on my 'Down To Earth DIY'.
I will be doing some catching up with you all later Today.

All the best to all,

John Smile

A good set of frost captures John, like the frost details and tones. V3 is a fine capture

Very nicely captured set, John: the beam of light in V 1 is picking out the selected area so well.

I think V3 is the best John, I love the just melting look, however they are all good so the choice is hard to make.

V1 has the spirit of the New Forest. I grew up in Hampshire. At school, a bunch of us were not interested in team games, on sports afternoons we were allowed to take the bus out to the Forest and go for a hike instead. No teacher. Can you imagine that being allowed nowadays???
This is how I remember the Forest, mellow light falling through the trees onto the russets of the bracken. Oh and the b****y ponies nicking your sandwiches.
That was before the traffic log-jam that the Forest is now.
Thanks for the memories.

Lovely set, John, very enjoyable; for all the simplicity of the composition, V1 appeals above all for the way the richness of the reds transforms gradually via dry, light browns to frosty white. Very good indeed.

Bill

Three lovely shots and though I like the vapor rising, V1 is for me with the sunlight just touching the fern!

Love them all John - wish we would get some good frost like this here - but that's a rare occurrence. Something about v3 calls to me......maybe bringing back some memories of fall in the woods in Norway. And wonderful dappled light.

Beautiful images John, nature at its best - a hard call between V1 & V3 for me but I think V1 just pips the post, I really like the contrast of the cold white frost against the warm red of the fern.

Three beautiful images which epitomise the very essence of autumn. It was well worth the early start to capture these

The best frost shots come to those who can get out of bed early in the morning.

This is an excellent example.
