...I visited Loch an Loin many times trying for a sunrise image, this was the first time I managed any colour in the sky. The lights were coming on in the house and the mist was slowly moving across the Loch.

Best viewed in a dark room.

Well worth the effort, Dougie. It has a wonderful, subtle toning and that distant mist with the signs of awakening in the houses are very atmospheric. Top notch!

Unusual for it's pale, cool light - the water seems hardly to be there in this one.

This is quite amazing. The perfect mirroring of the mountain in the loch allied to the mist suggests a cool if not cold ambience, yet the tiny pinpricks of glowing light from the cottage assure us of warmth and comfort. Classic, and very beautiful.

A lovely image Dougie. I find those twilight hours in the highlands highly evocative. You can imagine those Celtic folktales of Kelpies, Fairy Dogs and Fionn MacCumhail tumbling down off of the hillsides.

Lovely work Dougie. Just enough light in the shadow areas to break it out of the straight silhouette mold. Crisp, clean and well framed.
