...falling on Beinn Alligin in Torridon last Friday. Waves of snow clouds passed and sunshine came out, this continued for a few hours till darkness.
Spectacular! It really is like a giant wave sweeping over the hill Dougie. It must have been some experience to see this - and quite cold! superb image.
Well that was quick Ann, many thanks for your award. Cold it was, I had been out earlier for a sunrise that was flattened by the arrival of the snow, great waves of it. This was taken almost frommy front door, I had come back for some coffee to put life into my hands and feet.
Dramatic well taken shot.
Beautiful photography !!
Wow - a scene from your front door! How wonderful.
SPECTACULAR ! So well captured .Gill
Wow, this is an impressive shot of an impressive weather phenomenon.
Stunning Dougie it looks like an amazing (if cold) experience.
very dramatic clouds dougie wonderful comp and tones a cracker nice one
Beautiful image and beautifully presented......
That left hand cloud seems to be literally sweeping up the slopes: looks jolly cold up there already with a dusting on the tops.
some cloud that one .... whoah!!!!
That cloud looks as if it could be quite frightening Dougie. So well photographed and processed.
A beautiful capture of a glorious highland scene. Those towering clouds dwarfing even the majestic hills of this wonderful part of Scotland. The cottages lend scale, which makes this all the more impressive. I have fond memories of GlenTorridon and used to stay quite often on Old Neil Riley's bunkhouse at the foot of Liathach.
I'm glad it brought memories flooding back Andy, and Thanks for your UA, it's quite a morning for me.
Very dramatic and superbly photographed.
Yep, winter made its presence felt. We had snow and it iced up on the pavements - a sudden shock to the system! Nicely captured.
a beautiful low horizon viewpoint with dramatic sky temperament well captured
That is quite magnificent, Dougie. The big sky has such wonderfully sculpted clouds, a textural treat.
Now I need an extra pair of socks
Great image avoiding the FG which lacks much interest and focussing on the drama in the skies. Superb and the dusting of snow on the hills really brings out the form despite flatter lighting. It's a lovely image.
Quite superb Dougie, & deserving of all awards.
All said above
That's what I call a sky Dougie. A good advert for the new MkIII
A fantastic vista, Dougie. Haven't seen anything this spectacular for ages. That sky is a dream.
Cheers Malc, it looked quite frightening as it rolled over the mountains which are quite large and sturdy. They vanishes and took the Loch with them while the storm blew over and then the sn came out again until the next giant wave.
The 5D 111 is a great camera I reckon an even better example that the mark 11, I always loved what I managed with the original 5D. A sad parting, I wonder where it is now???
That's dedicatIon for you Dougie, fabulous shot that snow cloud really could be a massive wave of water, quite amazing
Wow !!!.....fantastic shot !!!......lovely mountain view, with a massive dose of 'magic' in that terrific sky....most impressive !!
It's 'wowed' me enough for a UA !!!......I love this one Dougie !!!.
Better with snow this way, than at home now. We had 15 cm of wet snow coming down today. To early
What I would give to have been there Dougie,I have never witnessed a storm / snow sky as fantastic as this.Beautifully captured and presented, very well done, Hope you are well my friend, Bill.
That is magnificent Dougie. Stunning and humbling
Looks like there was a lot of movement in the air. Superb cloud formations, excellent sky above a lovely but cold landscape.
Keith many thanks for your UA, never had 4 before, if you see what I mean?
What can I say Dougie... such an amazing image, quality work...
Thanks for your UA Mari, I'm very pleased to get a UA from you my friend.
