In case you don't know, I live in rural france, which means we are not exactly spoilt with big trucks and wheelie bins.
This here is mainly from Malaysia and a glimpse into the French motor trade or what happens to your car parts. I couldn't resist dipping a bit into Nik's Color Efex.
Last but not least, why we didn't move to Malaysia. (nš6)
Finally, the trash team round where we are moving to: A pair of vultures above the wheelie bin, just round the corner from our future home in Guanacaste.

PS V2is not selcetive colour, it is only desaturated a bit and there was a last ray of sun reflected on the bins and a red light above a door.
Important, here is a link to a photo that is NOT mine on my Facebook page.. Tells you where your 'RECYLED' stuff goes!
looks like the link does not wor that well.. try this

And I thought Greece was a dirty nation, Annette Sad Malaysia beats our dumping of rubbish easily, so sad to see the lovely countryside ruined by their ideas of rubbish disposal Sad Carol

Just seen Lynne's contribution to this venture by she and others: great set again from you, Annette, and my favourite is between V 2 and 3, the selective colour retention shots.
V 6 would suggest the folk out east are as mucky as we are in the UK with a tendency to dump everything at our feet.

This makes a good series - especially when combined with Lyn Joyce's post of today.
You have the subject covered between you!

YAY! Well done for this set and for being such a good international partner in trash! I love the series. All are excellent but of course I have favourites. V2 is spectacular and could easily grace any magazine feature on urban living, V5 is brilliantly complex and detailed and V7 features the best garbage disposal team of all.

Well done for featuring the link to the photograph in the midst of the place where our 'recycled' materials go. It is easy to be smug and complacent because we fill our recycling bins carefully, but recycling is only third out of five in the waste hierarchy and there are significant environmental implications associated with it as the photograph clearly shows.

I bet these images won't be gracing the tourist brochures of MalasiaGrin....cannot understand why the rubbish cannot be removed from the streets at night...must attract rats...
That said an amazing set of images Annette...

Excellent work, Annette, and the other 3 in your team Grin

For me, V6 would be the tip of the iceberg for 'reasons not to move to Malaysia', actually.

If I had to pick a favourite here, it would be between Vs 3 and 4. V4 is very artistically done, both the shot and processing. Especially the processing. But I also love the composition and that tree in V4 Smile

Wow -- what a wonderful series, Annette. I'm glad you mentioned that you did not apply selective coloring to V2. That might be my favorite shot and I was going to compliment you on how effectively you applied that technique. I guess I am jaded from doing to much Photoshop.

Is that your Mercedes parked in the no parking zone? Smile

I love your vultures in V7 -- perfect timing catching one looking down at potential food.
Nice comp. in V4. That tree really sets the scene and makes for a nice (but sad) juxtaposition to the trash.
V3 is right up there with V2 in terms of visual interest.
V6 is a good bit of photojournalism and a sad commentary.
V5 has some very nice grot detail.

A terrific set of rubbish images (except V7, Annette Wink ) and as varied as can be.
A truly worthy upload in the name of GAS (Garbage Appreciation Society) Smile
What a world we live in... literally a "throw-away" society.
And most interested to see where some societies are happy to dispose of their garbage.
