Well , actually it is a libelloides coccajus, ascalphe soufré in French.
This year I had to move my bug hunting grounds ( see yesterday's rant) and the 'new ' meadow has a very similar composition to the one close to home. Was very pleased to see that there are a dozen of those predators, very rare in France or Spain. They are as fast as the airplane and as deadly for flies.
