This tiny beetle is less than 2cms long but moves at an astonishing speed! I found it on a rock in the north west of Scotland.

Have recently learned that these little beasties have a ferocious bite !! However it appears humans are not at risk......I wouldn't have pushed my luck trying to coax it to stay on the rock if I had been aware of its ferocity!!
