5 mins to take the photo, an hour to decide on the gradient. Comments and critique always welcome.

Nice idea. Great angle and I like the way the stem almost disappears into the darkeness.
Patrick
I agree with Teena, it looks like the light is coming from inside, lovely,
Chris.
Thanks very much everyone, I know what you mean about that bit at the bottom, I took it out several times but decided to leave it in for its quirky nature ;-0 LOL! K.
Crikey an HC! Thanks everyone, Roy its easy trust me, I dont faff about for hours on end these days. If you want to know how to do this let me know. K.
I like the composition and simple set up for this one, K. The glow effect is certainly interesting but sits oddly with me, I can't quite put my finger on it. The green of the stem is rather dark, which is fine as it's not the most interesting part of the plant, but the brightness/intensity in the middle of the flower makes me think it's hiding some interesting texture there. The pink parts look great, just my "mind's eye" keeps wondering what's hidden under the yellow. I don't know - that's just the feeling I get when I look at it.
Hardly critique...this is waffle! LMAO!
Thank you both, Lauren I can assure you were was no texture to hide, if there was I was going to use it and go all contrasty
The glow was actually a light I'd placed to try and lift the centre of the flower, really disappointed with these flowers, and the gradient has increased the intensity for some reason. Thank you for your honest feedback it is very much appreciated. K.
K, this is just radiant. What camera do you use? I'm never going to get an image this smooth with the one I have now. Oh, to have a career that pays...I need a better paying job.
David.
PS. If it's a budget point-and shoot, I'm going to cry ![]()
LOL David! No but it could have been, window light and the macro on my little Fuji would have done just as well. Thank you and Magda too. K.
Oh, I missed this one K. it's beautiful, well done and congrats on the HC (and thanks for the comment on my pic, apologies for deleting it, it just had to go!)
Great image K,
something else to try, once i've finished mucking around with goldfinches ![]()
