I feel a triptych approaching.

I like these, may have to have a go myself, now where is the idiots guide to smoke patterns?

These were side lit with a studio light but I have just used on board flash before. Jason Jasbe32UK has just put an article on epz here where he uses a lightbox underneath the stick, I havent tried this yet but may well later. No Matt, not yet LOL! Thank you all for your comments. K.

Thanks for the link. Watch out I may be on the case of a bird (I presume Matt means of the feathered variety) shaped smoke trail.

Really nice shot and great colours.

Ross

Brilliant picture. Like the colour and composition. I have tried this myself but have not quite figured what to burn to get decent shapes. Tried cigarettes and matches and smelly sticks, what do you use?

Love your description K. Honesty is the best policy I find too. Not sure how the New Year "I'm giving up smoking" clan will take to it. Grin

But I love it.Smile

My favourite of your latest batch, let down only by the noise in the darker areas of the smoke.

Great shot. I've actually been thinking about trying one of these for the last week or so, but haven't had the chance yet.

Simply beautiful K, love how the colours blend and the composition. Excelent work and congrats on the HC.

First of all well done, i really like the pattern captured here for the smoke. however I was wondering what type of smoke you used here, and are the colors captured by using various colored gels or it was added afterwards in ps...

I know you like doing this type of work and it takes a long time to do,not just the shoot but also the set up. You have done this one very well, i love the multipul colours and the line from bottom left to top right makes this a winning image with 1st class presentation.

Tony

Thank you all so very much Smile

The colours were created in photoshop using a gradient and I think it was overlay mode set at 50% but its a question of experimenting with this sort of thing, alot dont work.

Roy, bubbles, smoke - love em both and still on a mission to capture the perfect one of each Wink K.

Hi K a very chilled out series of shots that would not look out of place on a Galley wall all displayed together.
Luv Victor x
