Looks like a delicious ice cream!
These are fab - you should get them printed on large canvas, K
great stuff,looks fab !!!
Looks good to me. Like smoking taking pictures such as these is addictive.
Beautiful circles, swirls and twists.
Very nice I love how the smoke looks like fire.
Ooooo, love the curves and curls. Reminds me of chocolate ripple. Beautiful light, tones and composition.
great image + capture, really like the different colours in the smoke.
well presented too.
Top quality stuff!

Brilliant work - I love the colour as well on this.
Another beauty K, think you've cracked this technique good and proper!
Love the spiral on the right hand side.
Nicely presented, and so much nicer seen large, too.
Lovely colours K,these are so good but I have had no luck with them !Well composed.
Well--how about a RC for a bit of a fix! Congratulations!
Nicely done K.....Pete
the question is how do you get it to swirl so perfectly
One of the best I've seen so far, and well presented too.
Love the colours on this one K
A great result, I like the way the smoke forms a helix
Congratulations K! This is such a great series. Love the scrolls in this and the toning works a treat.
No idea how you do this...but it sure works great! Wonderful tones and shapes! Beautiful shot!
Fantastic and congrats!
wonderful //.. stunning work
Brilliant K, well done and congrats
wonderful, will have to try this again me thinks
congrats on EC
A beauty. Congrats on the EC.
Oh my god! Thanks Pete! I'm still going with this smoke because I know there is better to come, its going to be down to alot of patience I think because I could fill 2 cards and still not come away with one that I'm 100% happy with. Thank you so very much for all your comments and support of these images. K.
Is this an incense stick again K - the smoke looks denser in this one...
great work! beautiful tone
congrats on the EC!
Great shot, good light. Congrats on the EC!
Great pic, congrats on the EC award well deserved.
I find this so hard to do..this is excellent, love it. Ann
Hi K, tried this tonight, couldn't get a sharp image so did a bit of work on my latest. Paul
Simply stunning. That colour is lovely and subtle. Well done.
I had a go at this the other day but now realise you haven't a chance without a flashhead. :-(
You need to get some of those patches, K, they can help you quit... Except I'd rather you didin't - 'cos I'm enjoying these very much. Most relaxing - you can see shapes in them, like clouds
Very cool shot, K
Congrats on the EC too!
Thank you all very much. Lauren you can just use an on board flash but you will need the background to be a fair distance from the smoke. this one was taken with just a single camera flash.
Well Done, K
I can't believe you're still uploading these...
Don't get me wrong, they're very good and i'm sure you've worked hard to get them, but 10 of them? It makes me think you just need your ego massaged by the clicks & comments.
PG, I dont have an ego, I like taking photographs and I liked the challenge of this subject. I really wanted to fill my showcase and each and everyone of these pictures needed to be different from the next, sometimes I really dont know why I even bother uploading anything as there is always someone wanting to find an ulterior motive behind something.
Don't think i'm attacking you...There's no ulterior motive. You (like everyone else on this site) upload photos for people to view and state their opinion on. That is my opinion. I didn't say it was a bad photo, I didn't say you are a bad photographer, I simply said I think you are over doing the smoke thing.
You need to be able to take criticism as well as praise in photography.
What does it matter how many if you think they are good? I enjoy or rather enjoyed doing them and as I said I wanted to fill my showcase. I take criticism about a photo but this wasnt about the photo. One landscape taken 10 different ways, a gerbera taken 10 different ways, this isnt the same shot uploaded 10 times with a different colour but I dont want to have to try and justify why I uploaded them. I like them, hence the uploads.
I'd rather have 10 smoke shots than 10 robins! LOL!
Blimey, thanks for telling me about the flash...I wouldn't have tried the on board flash as I thought it had to be side/back lit. Will have a go at the weekend. Cheers.
Looks almost shell like. Transparent.
Thanks very much folks. K.
WoW stunning folio very original and your web site is A1 a pleasure to look at!.
Thank you both very much K.
WOW, what a fantastic shot!!!! Your portfolio is looking wonderful! clickety clickety click! Lyns x
Thanks Lyns K.
great composition, must have taken a load of
patience to get this shot, reminds me of the many fractal flames that I have been greatly preoccupied besides photography.
I am about to finish decorating my house soon and think that a couple of these smoke shots might look fantastic on my wall if you would consider parting with a couple. With regards to the person who commented on the number of smoke images uploaded - that just sounded like an envious viewer to me - If you uploaded 10 portraits does that mean you are over doing it - obviously that person needs to learn to look at the images far far closer - a face must just be like any other face to her - sad.
Any way great photo mesmerises me every time I look at it.
Thank you Simon and Shaun. Shaun be happy too, drop me a line at my email address(on my profile page) or PM. K.
Classy - keep posting them - love to know your approach
I am so taken by this photo, i have never seen anything like it before. The detail is such that you could look at it for ages and still see things you hadn't noticed before.
I am new to this place so don't know if it's bad etiquette to ask what the technique is to get this sort of shot.
To the person who mentioned the ego, your comment is a personal attack rather than critiquing the photos. Understand the difference before commenting in the future.
Can you post the technique used for this photograph? Its fantatic.. I would love to try it
