This was taken during the Cinematic Lighting styles workshop I ran over the Easter weekend at Village Studios, Bexley. Inspired by the work of George Hurrell and CS Bull I aimed to recreate in digital the feel of images from that era. The model is Kate Errington and all the styling, hair and make-up was by my very talented wife. Lighting is entirely tungsten with a mix of Arri fresnel and PAR 38s.

The next Cinematic Styles workshop is in August.

This does have such a great period feel to it. It could have been taken in the 1940's and is very evocative of the period.

What makes this stand out is your accomplishment in producing an image that doesn't appear to be an imitation but actually a product of that era. Superb.

Thanks Ian, as I said in the pic notes the imaged was inspired from that period and was shot in a workshop where I was teaching how to simulate the lighting and cameras used in that era. I was only using 650w and 500w lights, they were using up to 10KW!
