Was asked to take some shots of a musician, whilst at session tried a few "arty" shots, liked this one personally, would appreciate your views.

I like it, - a nice shot.
I would suggest you try to de emphasize the fingers at the left, - Ive tried to darken them a little in the mod, - and also sharpened quite a bit to brig out those highlights.
Another approach may be to try a toned mono, and Ive done this in mod2.
Regards
Willie
Hi Willie
Many thanks for taking time to help, appreciated.
Liked the Mod 2, tried to re-create same with Photoshop CS3, B&W, using 6 colour adjustment sliders but could not achieve "the sparkle" you have, was this the correct tool to use? guessing you something else as well?
Regards
Peter
Hello, Peter. I like your arty shot very much. The saxophone is an intricate instrument and photographs well. I like the way the light catches it and enhances all the curves. I feel that the bell is too close to the right frame edge, and have done a modification where I added some canvas to that side. I also did a levels adjustment and sharpened the picture. I used colour balance because the image developed some blue in the hands, but it made them overly pink, so I desaturated them in my second mod. Not sure which I prefer.
Pamela.
