I got this shot from a ground level hide I put together a while back. The wildlife seem to have adjusted to it over the past couple of weeks, so I should get some interesting images up soon. BTW, the last 2 pheasant shot are from the same hide, although early morning. This is early/mid afternoon, when the sun light was dappled by some trees.

I decided on a tight crop because of the centred position of the head within the body.

This is really rather good - apart from the pheasant, there's a rather nice colour pattern thing going on, with the feathers, the light, the ground and the background... Smile

lovely and unusual photo of a pheasant, the warm glow of the afternoon sun makes this extra special, nice eye contact and great feather details, the tight crop works very well.
