I got these shots yesterday morning, just after a heavy shower. Let me know if you have a personal preference - mine is V1, but it would be good to know if the general concensus if toward something different.
Thanks for looking, and enjoy the weekend.

Super captures; wonderful eye contact in v.1. He seems preoccupied with the ants in v.2. Lovely shots. There is a recently fledged youngster round here but I haven't managed to capture him on camera yet.

Brilliant shots Andrew. This is a cracking good bird to capture. I am with you on version 1 but I must say I like the slightly tense attitude and pose of version two. I keep waiting for him to strike and get food from the ground.

What an absolutely superb set of images. Terrific detail, colours and plumage textures in all. ery hard to choose a favourite but I think I have to go with V1 - something about the pose, as he seems to be aware of your presence.

Excellent photography with this fine set, Andrew. Each shot is clear & crisp & each worthy of a solo feature, in my opinion.
V1 but V4 a close second - love that dirt on its beak.

For me it's V4 too- a little more interest with the dirt where it has been foraging.

Sickning Wink soooo envious of these shots - you've captured the caracter of this timid bird beautifully in these 5 shots and as for colour detail and exposure - brilliant - just love 'em all - Ina
