I tried to express a still life scene, and an environment which was left by people for a reason.

Quite strong but highlights need a bit of work to reduce intensity. There are three areas competing for compositional attention. The sacks, the window and the bright sunlight on the floor. Better if one is dominanr. Possibly a viewpoint slightly to the right looking left and a little less exposure with work then to lighten resulting shadows.

i like it a lot, but im unsure if i like it with the sacks better or by moving around a bit to just get the vaulting and light beam. its the gap between that just seems a bit negative

perhaps you could have moved the sacks back a bit Grin

seriously though, maybe more emphasis could have been made on the sacks maybe to close down the distance between them and the light.

the dust in the light is super

lot i do do like about this and im sure mono was the best choice

Welcome to Ephotozine Rooby.

A very nice first upload, nice hard graphic quality. Love the mono conversion. As Phil suggested perhaps point the camera a little more left to get more of the sacks, keep the window and the light, and have a little less of the wall on the right.

Ive loaded a mod to show what I mean, and also toned down the bright highlights. If you scroll up this page, click the modifications tab to view the mods.

Enjoy the site.

regards

Willie

Far me your have two photos in one, (the Left and Right) the middle is just dead ground. which is a shame because your composition, exposure, and feel of the shot is spot on. I also like the High Contrast look of the shot.
