Day 24 - Sweeties

Once again I'm stuck indoors due to bad weather. A Flickr group suggested a weekly themed challenge, the first theme being sweets. Someone thought it would be a good idea as we would all likely have leftover sweets from Christmas. Hmm, they obviously don't know me very well..... leftover sweets? What does that mean?

Anyway, nothing has come of this suggestion so far (maybe everyone's like me?), but the seeds were sown and I wanted to do my sweetie pic. So off I trundled to the shops today in search of suitable sweets and I was delighted to find tubes of all pink smarties, in support of the Breast Cancer campaign. And of course the bonus is I get to eat them after photographing them!

I've just read on the side of the pack that there are 89 calories per half pack. Per half pack??? Who eats half a pack of smarties?

So, here for your delectation are my smarties ... and a button (must make sure I don't eat that)

EDIT: quite disappointed at the poor quality of this upload, nothing like as sharp and clear as the original Sad

An obvious thing to point out I know, but it's something I forget to do sometimes - did you remember to give the image a bit of a sharpen after re-sizing for upload? Smile

I have seen a new sweet shop popping up around here (one in Exeter and one in Taunton so far). An 'Olde Worlde' type sweet shop. Every sweet and chocolate you can possibly think of.............remember black jacks, flying saucers, rhubard/custard? Jars and jars line the walls and so many slabs of different flavoured chocolate. Row upon row of lollies, candy canes and anything else you can think of to rot your teeth and double your waist!

I am so tempted to ask if I can go in just to take photographs!

It's lovely to see new and independant shops opening..............long may they last!! Smile

Yes I did - I only ever sharpen after resizing, not before. I've uploaded the same shot to Flickr (apologies for swearing Wink) and it's much clearer on there!

That sweet shop sounds wonderful! Go on, ask them! You could do a deal - let them have some of the photos you take for promos Smile
