A truly glorious late afternoon on Branscombe Beach yesterday. I've done very little to these images - the colours and light really were this vibrant!

Thanks for looking and for any comments you have time to make - and thanks for your interest in my last upload Smile.

Theresa, I fell V 1 is by a long way the better composition: all the natural lines......shadow, shore line, tracks in the sand and clouds all carry down to the boat which is so well placed in the frame.
Looks as if the weather down your way was warm and sunnySmile.....freezing cold up this way all daySad
Ronnie.

I like v1 best--- all lines, shadows, clouds and beach pattens all lead to your main subject-- Excellent composition!

V1 is the one ---- better balanced, and the reletionship between boat and sky is much better.

Super colours Theresa, but it is TOO prisine looking.
A few little scratches along the hull with your manicured nails might have been in order here !!
Good shots.

v1 for me too - the light is superb. You must have had a great afternoon there. I spent a week in Branscombe once, but have completely forgotten what it is like!

Thank you all for your comments - yes V1 was always my preference so I'm glad you all agree Smile.
Mick: So sorry, I had just filed my nails down, otherwise I may have been able to oblige you... I did make sure I kept a lovely piece of rusty chain in shot for you however WinkWink

Two gorgeous photographs. V1 by a shade, or should I say a sky?

Fabulous light is best displayed in V1, where the greater detail of the 'extra' sky also plays a large part. My eye is attracted to the parallel lines along the shingle, perhaps laid by a Land Rover owner who couldn't be bothered to walk Smile

Going backwards and forwards between these, I started off favouring V1 100%, now V2 is growing on me, I like its rather sadder angle and shadows. But the light and longer shadows in V1 are stunning, you led with the right image.

That's an interesting observation, Moira - I couldn't put my finger on the difference in the mood of these two images, but you've hit the nail on the head... the boat in V2 is lonely and sad!

Yes, looks too 'clean' and freshly painted! Smile A fine pair of images though, Theresa, and V1's my fave Smile

Two excellent comps here Theresa. I think V1, with the headland, just wins for me today, although V2 is almost as good!
