Ah well it was a nice little blip in the weather last week, but it's all over now. Still, we have our memories.... and our photos
. Here's one of a gazania which I hope will bring a little sun into your lives ![]()
Thanks for looking and for your continued interest in my images - it is really appreciated.
Theresa
EDIT: After much discussion, I've changed the background colour to a soft grey, at Joan's (Emjaycee) suggestion. I think it's better than the yellow - thanks Joan ![]()

Excellent close-up with good and effective use of back lighting, Theresa.
You have chosen a yellow EPZ background to set it against: I think this takes away from the excellence of the image, and had you chosen black, or at least a tone other than yellow, the beauty of this shot would have shone forth even more.
Just my thoughts.
Ronnie.
Lovely subtle composition, avoiding the obvious.
Moira
Truly and utterly beautiful image. The POV and comp just make this so wonderfully different and so beautiful..Jo
Thanks Ronnie, Andy, Moira, Tony, Ayoob, Jo and Mick.
Ronnie, you wouldn't believe how hard I found it to select a bg colour!! I went for the usual black at first but it actually did nothing for it, far too overwhelming against these delicate colours. So then I went through so many colours and settled for this. Like you, I'm not convinced it's the right choice, but it seemed better than anything I tried - all shades of blue, all shades of green... all shades of the entire colour wheel!!!!
Theresa
Beautifully captured Theresa - a gorgeous image.
Carol
I am also not sure about the background .... but tend to think I would have chosen this as well
A fab image ....
Love this shot Theresa with it's beautiful light. Would a very soft grey have been a better background colour? Then the colour of the petals would have been more prominent. Know what you mean though, you can drive yourself up the wall sometimes trying to select the right shade, and the more you try the more frustating it can be!!!
Joan.
the delicate texture in the petals is outstanding, what a beautiful composition!
Yes, I think we've had the last of the warm weather
A wonderful and brightly coloured close-up here, Theresa ![]()

I like the way you have exploited the translucence of the petals, allowing shape rather than colour to the fore. Excellent composition.

Love the subtle light and the 'right there in amongst them' pov, Theresa. It is different and it works a treat.
Malc
Fantastic shot Theresa, I love the back lighting and the detail and soft pastel colours and wonderful.
Hugh
Thanks Sues - yes I can believe that, it's the sort of thing I do so it's good to meet a kindred spirit. In fact it gets worse - I'll be going through the gallery on my PC, leave it to go and make a cup of tea and then go in the living room and pick up the laptop, from whence I continue my gallery trawling. Hours later I come across the frozen image on the desktop PC and think, "But I'm sure I commented on that".....
Theresa
You've caught some lovely light through the petals Theresa. I must take you up on the title though, did we really have a summer this year, unless of course you are referring to the unseasonably warm weather we had in April and early May!![]()
A beautiful image wonderfully captured the light is sublime well done
