Just a quickie while I decide on what to do next.
Please look at the L A R G E version
The back lighting is a very similar set up to my last shot but used a studio flash with snoot on the Chrysanthemum flower head.
Thanks for looking
I love the lighting on this, Rob. It's so simple and accentuates the simplicity of the over all subject.
beautiful lighting, especially shining through the vase
Beautiful work. I love th colour and that gorgeous light.
It is exquisite. Vote conferred.
Pure elegance in this rhapsody in blue.
Wonderful colour, great light!
if this is a quicky then more please:0) it's simplicity is stunning
Lovely shot - super colours
Thanks very very much everyone for your clicks and comments, they're all greatly appreciated
Well to say barely anyone has even bothered to look at this image, sixteen votes is pretty good going
A beautiful combination of colours.
nice selection of colours, peaceful
Unusual shot, very well composed with brilliant colours. I wish my "quick" ones were as good as this.
Thank you very much Phil, Ian and Sandra
Also thanks to those of you who have given it a click vote too
The larger version really shows the beauty of this shot and detail.. stunning and exquisite...!!!!
Thank you very much indeed John, Nikki and all who have clicked
I'm very intrigued by your light, and how you composed - amazing details and vivid colour. Very good presentation too.
Excellent shot. Your work is very inspirational... Great work!
Would love this on my wall........superb work!
Love this photo.
Great colours and simple but effective composition.
gorgeous subtle lighting on the flower, the graduated background works perfect.
Thank you very much indeed Cesie, Gregor, Ali, Noe, Tracy and all the clickers
Definitely check out the big version. You have the lighting and setup technique down to a fine art, so you can think more about what you want to accomplish rather than the details of how to do it.
Thanks Patrick. Exactly right there Patrick
the colouration and lights workl very well in this picture - this is one of the many options i guess - but with the blue and the purple theme the lighting is spot on!
A simple,clean looking image Rob,love the lines & colours here.Well set up & lit..elegant.
OK this is what I think - (fine shot tho it is)
The Bg light is a little to intrusive ??
It could gain I think from being more landscape with a bigger space to the right implying the plant is yearning for the light !!!! ????
Not your shot I understand - but there ya go
Thanks very much Dave. The original shot is landscape but I decided to upload this cropped version. Maybe I should upload the other?
Happy to be click 50
nice sleek presentation. very nice lighting and detail. good job.
Might be interesting to hear others views - but you got plenty good response anyway...
The plant is pointing so determindly right it suggests to me a space there ??
Thanks Tina and Dave.
Yes I know exactly what you mean Dave. I will upload the other un cropped version to my website soon.
What a nice surprise to come back to!
Thanks for the HC Pete
another powerful image...so simple yet speaks volumes!
Rob, love how you got the vase to glow the opposite way your background does. Wow, you know your skills are at a high level when even your "quickie"s get an HC. Congratulations!
Thanks Hannah and Paul, It's simply because it's full of water that it turned that effect upside down
The lighting (especially on the vase) is excellent. Did I recognise one of your lemon and ice shots in digital SLR mag? Well done Jane
Thanks Jane. Yes you're quite right but it was the Orange Chill one, and they printed in landscape format and the colours were odd :-( But!! I was very glad of the money so don't really care LOL!
I had on printed in issue 2 as well in the expert critique section. Got a Trigrip reflector for that
Such beautiful light! its awesome! really is!
Thank you Luis

Good to see you back Rob round Rob, when will we see some new work.
Thanks Terry LOL what... Rob round Rob? What you been drinking
I will do something new soon, I'm looking for a new surface to shoot stuff on, because my other glass surface I often use is being used for something else and can't be moved.
Not sure what it is but it has a damn good effect...!!
Look forward to seeing the new work.
I look forward to it too. I've seen similar work to yours but when I see it, it is not quite as good. And in big magazines too.
Thank you Patrick, that's very kind of you to say
Superb image - Rylands
Welcome back! Love this shot, just finished still life at college, and know how hard it is to light. Shot is amazing and beautifully lit!
Nice work, hope to see more soon!
Absolutely stunning colour and detail
All been said. Great image.
I like this one to, it has a different look I dont feel it needs more space, I do agree about a different colour flower as this pink absorbs the blue, but maybe thats what you wanted not sure, anyway, you always capture the beauty ... you must have a good collection of glassware do you collect them just for photographing? )P
Thanks Paddy. Yes I always keep an eye out for eye catching glassware PURELY for photographing. Just bought 2 more pieces yesterday too
