Gene Autry's Cowboy Code

1. The Cowboy must never shoot first, hit a small man, or take unfair advantage.

2. He must never go back on his word, or trust confided in him.

3. He must always tell the truth.

4. He must be gentle with children, the elderly, and animals.

5. He must not advocate or possess racially or religiously intolerant ideas.

6. He must help people in distress.

7. He must be a good worker.

8. He must keep himself clean in thought, speech, action and personal habits.

9. He must respect women, parents, and his nation's laws.

10. The Cowboy is a patriot.

GREAT portrait! I love the name of the band and I love that you included the cowboy code.
All you need now is Kathy Fink's song "I'd like to be a cowgirl."

Had never heard of that code before Anne, but it's a good one for far more than cowboys to live by, as to your capture, it is a first class take on a man not afraid to look you straight in the eye!

11. He must be prepared to out-stare camera lenses.
That's a wonderful pair of eyes you've captured.

the code should be the guide of any civil, evolved citizen of this world.
I love the sincerity of his eyes, showing an interior peace.
well taken Anne

He looks much too nice to be a cowboy, but if that's their code then I guess he must fit the bill. Lovely clear portrait.

I never knew of the code either Anne.
I just thought cowboys shot first and asked questions later !!
Good shot.
