I was called out on assignment the other day. Smoky-Brown Sr. showed up at my backdoor, requesting that I document the burial of his son S-B Jr. who passed away unexpectedly.
Feeling guilty, because my pest guy had just worked in the yard, I figured, wth, I can do this. I did however, make a deal with Smoky that he never show up in my part of the world again.
It was a sunrise service, and junior was laid to rest on a soft thistle. He was almost good looking as he lay there caressed by the sunlight……………
Is there a cucaracha heaven?
Make the most of your day folks.

just a slightly confused comment coming up ....![]()
only fair cos you have confused me with your write up ...![]()
Quite extraordinary, the thistle seems to be actively involved in the story, as though it's in the process of enveloping the corpse. This is just amazing.

A nice place to R.I.P.
Well, I hope for Mr. Smoky Sr. that he holds to his promise!
