It’s sun-up, but Robert Corey of “R Bar D Chuck Wagon” has been up for several hours already, preparing food for the day’s chuck wagon cook-off contest.

I've tried a slightly different method of processing for this one. The light that morning was magical and I've tried to re-create it.

Thanks for looking,

Anne

Great portrait. Love that touch of light on his face and the slight gleam to the eye! Rather pleased to be allowed to vote for a change too!

I think I prefer the previous b&w portrait with the lamp, but this is very evocative - a time, a place, a character. Wonderful use of natural light, and shallow dof. And yes, I'm glad to be able to vote!

You have re-created the light extremely well. It does suggest that early morning feeling, when most of the world is just beginning to come to, while others - like this fellow - have been up and about for ages. The face has a slight air of melancholy, which adds to the overall effect: almost as if he's saying, "well, I've done my bit - what about you?"

Regards.

The light is beautifully soft and brings out all the detail so sympathetically.

Looks like you've succeeded Anne, a great portrait of Robert! Lots of good observations above.
Rgds., Jim
PS. I know you don't want votes Anne, but I'm going to be #28 anyhow, this has to get to at least a RC, so deserving!

Like the expression and good light on his face Ann. I would be tempted to darken the sky above his head as it is bright and pulls the eye. Or you could clone in some of the leaves in that area. Just a suggestion

Thanks as always for your suggestions Richard. Yes, the sky is a bit light, so I will go back and take a look at that. The original image is totally white in the background, have done a lot of work on that area, but will see if more can improve this. Smile
