I see Tore on and off again when I'm in Norway. Last year I saw him briefly during the early part of my stay. I know where to find him as he wanders up and down the same street daily.
JimV asked me for an update on some of the people I've photographed on the street. I did not see Tore again the rest of the summer, and he didn't look well.
He does have a tiny efficiency apartment, and a state stipend, but it doesn't reach far. That filter tip was bummed from a passerby.
He is a nice man, and will sit and talk quietly and frankly with you if you ask for a conversation. We've had a few in the city park.
Thanks for looking,
Anne

'This Norwegian man "Tore" looks like a real 'survivor,' Anne'~
Striking candid monochrome, B&W Portrait of this rugged looking gentleman. Sorry to hear of his ailing health. ~ He surely must have "some Stories to Tell"~~~
Ciao~ Peter
You have captured an openness in his expression, Anne, which gives the impression of a person easy to come in contact with despite, or perhaps because of, his situation.
Excellent photography.

He seems like an old friend now, and I'm sensing growing desperation in those strong eyes. This is superb work, that matters.

A stunning portrait, Anne, you've really captured his character here very well ![]()

A wonderful face ... you have captured so well
Your writeup is a bit distressing though ...
a very touching portrait, full of the sad furrows that life has drawn. But how many of us are lost , if placed in the wrong place, and we will look as sad!
An amazing character shot Anne, the type of Face that lends itself so well to mono.

Quote: The face of a man who has endured a lifetime of strugggle and hardship Anne. This is a lovely sympathetic portrait, so delicately handled.

Couldn't have put it better Anne,
Geoff.
Thanks for the mention Anne, but even more so for this stunning portrait of Tore, what a character, it must be fascinating to talk with him as he has obviously seen a lot of life! Sorry to see his health was not so good, hope it was just temporary.
Rgds., Jim
