This is a monochrome version of Lost Soul I uploaded sometime ago HERE

I have been trying some mono conversion on some of my images recently, as I tend to struggle in international exhibitions with my mono's :/

It's interesting that you write in terms of mono conversions.

Now, I've never exhibited at all, but I wonder if the thing is partly about shooting in mono, and thinking black-and-white?

This is tonally lovely, and a really interesting idea - but I'm not sure that the mono version is either better or worse than the coluour original...

Thank you Dudler for your input, I should have been a little clearer on my description. I do shoot my monochrome with that in mind, but I have been going through colour images which I feel would suit monochrome as well as colour.
If I do convert from colour to mono I do dodge & burn the shadows and highlights more in the mono version so it is not a case of just turning it black and white.

That makes utter sense!

I admit that I sometimes do the same with digital shots.

Still, the discipline of shooting with film really helps, I find. And it's so much fun, especially as I enjoy a little bit of coutnercultural work.
