Stained Glass Window at Dore Abbey, the lens was zoomed during the 4 second exposure.
Sometimes called a zoom burst.
The camera was mounted on a sturdy tripod and taken up to the centre height of the window, the image was composed with the lens towards the 300mm end, the thinking behind the shot was to open the shutter, dwell for a 1 second, zoom for 1 second to a stop, then let the central image have a 2 second exposure, the zooming was done by hand, experimenting with times, this was shot on slide but shooting on digital you can preview straight away, should make it easier.
