First of all, apologies for the lack of clicks/comments yesterday, my partner's young brother, aged 39, was found dead in bed, and my mind was obviously on other things.
Today's upload is of a very strange shield bug I spotted, I've never seen one like this before, and would love an ID from one of the experts.

Very sad news when anyone dies, but so young. Thoughts to the family.....Three great images, glad you posted all of them and I don't have a clear favourite for once. Nice composition and isolation. He looks massive!!

Condolences to your partner on this tragic loss. Can't help with the I/D yet but I will look up some of my favourite sites to see if I can help.
i didn't realise there were so many variants of orange shield bugs!! if it's previously undiscovered, how about Pentatomoidea tigris carolis. Three excellent captures.
