Nice concept J and would suggest a little more contrast adding in PS to lift the scene as a tad flat on my screen which will spearhead the impact further ~ IMO...

Hi John looking at Lex's comments and your response ~ Love the girl as per usual with your portrayals but for me if the larger dimension of the outdoors is to be part of the final Image as a whole then just find the saturation a bit faded looking through the door and for me doesnt quite sit right...
Another piece of critique from an Abstract Macro man who has no experience of your subject matter for lighting or effect on beautiful Models but a bugger for detail it struck me straight away on viewing the scene?

Eye contact is strong but find the hi lited brim a little distracting and pulls the eye more and more on reviewing but commendably good portraiture

Thanks Tony ~ Of late I too have noticed the lack of truthful responses to uploads in the hope of obtaining that additional vote of which, on initially joining EPZ, I was guilty of to the point of wanting my own work to be up there with the best...
However, of late I am confident in saying EPZ and it's following of several gifted artists has truly inspired and rekindled my own standard of Images to the point where I am actively taking Photographs every day with a passion to advance and so the votes are irrelevant compared to the Inspiration now instilled.
I personally will continue now to peruse the Gallery of EPZ as a means of enjoyment and leave constructive comments and in line a vote on images that have drawn an emotive response good or bad regardless of the reciprocated voting method clearly used on site...
Apologies Tony on using your Upload for today to air opinions that you have bought to the fore but think your point about not being able to progress without honesty is only too true and false voting is of no consequence in this forward thinking approach.

Finding a different angle on one's Art is highly desirable and indeed Inspiring Tony but although the model is a beautiful apparition I personally ( Oh ****! Here we go...) find the Image is neither High Key/ Low key or correct?
It appears very flat on my screen with no contrast at all and does very little for the Beauty beyond.
Probably get a few eyes rolling Tony but I feel we as photographers on this site are going no where without independant but more to the point Honest comments ~ A photograph and Image for me has to evoke a reaction of immense emotion to obtain a response of passion and inspiration and appreciation, of which your studio dance portraits have but this recent line leaves me cold and deflated ....
I have commented as above Tony as requested and mean nothing derogatory to your usual Compelling and Inspirational work.

Of course Ian ~ The thumbnail did cause me to open the Image and peruse and then form a reaction from me photographically of bewilderment from somebody with so many years experience and technical ability in the Genre.....
Alot of us on the site are looking for a way forward in terms of advancement to produce improved Imagery or maybe I am on my own here?
When I think of Editor I think of someone who has earned his spurs and can shine a beacon of hope for the rest of us to aspire to photographically ~ I was dismayed thats all.
The vote was a form of encouragement to find that beacon for the future....

Go for a tripod everytime ~ If a Tripod is not convenient I use a mini tabletop tripod attached to the camera and this acts as a support brace against the chest to help stabilise against camera shake which is always emphasised at range close macro work!

Really like this Image with it's detail and colour but I have been studying it and something doesnt quite promote the very best side of it?
For me in PS ~ I think a crop of the left hand side would work better thus leaving the main figures and the doorway, then I would flip the Image 180 degrees Left to right and putting the doorway on the left of the Figures for a more comfortable composition and giving Maximum Impact on this lovely unusual take?
Everybody has a different slant on an Image I Guess!

Morning James ~ In a situation like this where part of an image is difficult to work with?
I always take the affected area and gently clone from a better part of the image, in this case an alternative bloom...
Use about 20/30% on clone tool to gently blend in the new layer!

Of course to date I have NEVER believed this goes on!
Have been looking at the Image obviously and initially thought the Table cutting across the screen was distracting but in fact it is an integral part of the Image....
However, the only part I find a poor addition is the out of Focus portion to the far right?
Having placed a piece of card over to crop back it definately improves the viewers focus on the Gals

The Mod is very good and improved technically but the Original is your vision and nobody elses!
When asking for comments ~ Like most advice, it's advice which you can digest and discard that which you do not wish to use and utilise the rest for future projects...
Removed an Image from this site earlier this month for pressure from a few members for it did not sit comfortably with their beliefs ~ This is probably the worst decision I have made on this site and I regret it very much, for an individuals work is just that and if people are not happy then switch Off.
Inglemann has been very helpful and precise but sometimes follow your nose and convictions thats what sets us apart from the Norm!
On a lighter note ~ I thought the image and Model were very nicely relaxed and had a natural appeal about it so really think about taking advice as your guide to better working practice?

Been thinking about this one Chris and it's a beautiful capture of a pretty child with super hair but I have been looking at the sand to the left and the right of the main figure?
NOW ~ I am gonna get a hammering for this but convictions and all that, I recommend cropping the bulk of the sandy area from the R/H side of the Image thus leaving the girl more over to the right of centre. The fact that the child is glancing back over her shoulder at the viewer it gives a balanced image with less space around her!
Try it out for yourself by placing a piece of card over the sand on the Right to experiment?
I am now off to put my Tin Hat on and wait for Pete to respond(Mr Bargh) that is....

This is a different approach but for me I would to twist the shot to give a diagonal line across the frame ~ This should give a more dramatic impact and attempt to place the tree on the upper or lower Third?
