On a stroll on Christmas day we came across a derelect site. The graffiti intrigued me....
I have been told that many people who worked in the factory that was there had those letters tatooed on their fingers.

Some may not want to read what those 4 letters stand for .... so stop reading now.Wink
All Coppers Are B*******

not so sure about the story ... but does anyone know any different?
Think I prefer it in mono

EDIT.....Graham has found the link and it seems the story is true

Coloured version for me, Barbs, and no doubt the definition of ACAB is what you think it is, unfortunately there are the minority of people who don't have any time for the police. Carol

I'd query the word All... In the light of the Hillsborough report, and the call for an independent review of the conviction of 500 miners in 1984, my faith in the police is not 100%.
B&W is darker, grittier, more appropriate.

Actually I reckon quite a few MPs must have those tattoos . . . .
Both versions are powerful but the b&w comes over as more so. The influence of the strong, irregular horizontals in leading the eye step by step towards the graffito is more marked.

The mono adds to the bleak feel of the whole business! I think I prefer colour though saddens me to read the message which thankfully simply isn't true.

The colour version certainly highlights the graffiti and makes a great image.
It's a pity the generalisation about the ACAB signifies.
Good and bad in every walk of life.

I would not have known what ACAB was meant to imply, Barbara.........guess I have led too sheltered a lifeWinkWink.
An interesting find on your walk and the derelict area and graffiti does make for a good shot, but I feel it does need the colour to give it's full impact, so it's V 1 for me.

v2 for me as well. Chris sings this often as a little song. My grandpa told me when I was very young never to trust a copper, funny enough he had a similar song over many verses about the marechausee hunting a guy for exactly nothing, the chorus is very similar in Dutch Smile

An arresting image - especially the mono. Arrest may have been the cause of the outburst - there is a small but persistent agressive/deluded group of criminals who consider it their right to commit crimes and to raise a complaint when required to take the consequences of their actions. A
