Heaven knows why but yesterday I thought of a book of my mother's - I cannot remember the title now but it is the book that the Disney film "Bambi" is based on. It may even be entitled "Bambi". My mum was given it in about 1945 when she was six years old and she had done what we all do as kids, write her name in full, her address in full, her school, her class, the year, etc., etc. Well, heaven knows where it has gone, but I cannot find it - maybe I have put it away in the loft for safekeeping or something - or did I give it to my brother?

Anyway, I felt the need to have a look at my mother's childish handwriting - funny how these daft moods come over one - and then I set about this image - I can remember my two brothers and I sitting on the floor with mum reading aloud to us from the book............happy memories.

The meadowy part is a pic I took on Monday - the other elements are all bits of older photos stashed away on my HD.

Since uploading V1 it has been suggested the image may be better more subdued --- so I have uploaded V2. I know I can be a bit on the bi-polar side when it comes to colour - either dull and dark or bright and over the top....sounds a bit like my personality really Wink

Yes Sue,a bit of a tearjerker this one with Bambi.Sad when his mother got shot by the hunter, but she warned Bambi not to go into the meadow umpteen times because of the hunters there that would shoot you,so God knows what she was doing there in the first place. And to take your little kid into the meadow too, just beggars belief in my book !! Yet more proof in my theory that it is all the parents fault the way their kids turn out.Perhaps it is just as well mummy was not around.I wondered what she would have thought when her lovely little son brought a rampant rabbit home and introduced him as his new found friend.Especially when she heard his name was Thumper !!

I enjoyed reading about your reminiscences, and what you have produced is not only a nice piece of creative work, but it has a charm that you have stamped upon it, not only from within your creative side, but also from within past memories. The little creatures all have a magical glow, this is a fairytale image indeed. V1 for me!

They sat steadfastly showing no emotion
I howled all the way through it
