Description

Actually, it's Hammersmith Bridge but it looks eminently suitable for a Halloween upload with the towers looking very 'Count Duckula'.

The bridge connects Hammersmith to Barnes in South West London. Hammersmith was the site of the first suspension bridge over the Thames, though the current bridge - known for its green and gold colour scheme - is the second on the site, constructed in 1887 to designs by famous sewer architect Joseph Bazalgette. Having survived bombing by the Real IRA in 2000, the bridge was renovated, and then awarded Grade II listed status in 2008. It is an important landmark for those watching or participating in an annual boat race between two universities from Oxford and Cambridge, as well as other rowing races.

(Scarborough was a nice break with the parents, although a little cold and damp... mostly the rain but also my inability to dodge waves Tongue )

An experiment with high ISO on this image... Iso 6400, 1sec, f16, 50mm, tripod and remote. Topaz Denoise used in processing.

Wish I had a pound sterling for every time I have crossed that bridge Dave, must be in the hundreds, to get to Barn's common; or Wimbledon recognised it right away, nice shot very nice light reflecting across the expanse of water. still it's your sort of shot well done, regards Leon. Excellent use of High ISO Dave! Does stop any movement associated with long shutter speeds even on a tripod, topaz has done an awesome job on the noise, overall 20 out of 20 again, only just pipped by Angie today for my UA.

I remembered Halloween yesterday, but forgot today.. I'd been thinking to make up a picture, but never have..

It's very Disney! Great time of day to shoot while colour still left in the sky. The water reflections are very attractive and pull your eye across the current. Even at this res I think you still show how well the 7D performs at high ISO.
