Still to be seen, but looking rather weary now, this wasp was relaxing on a leaf in the sunshine.

Who else can capture the details of a scary wasp.V3 is superb, Carol, with fine details of the antennae, bristles & other markings. - Raja.
Wonderful detail, Carol. v3 is such a strong close encounter. Hopefully the cold weather has taken the sting out of its tail!!

You are braver than I - I stay away from these as much as possible. My neighbor just cut her ground ivy with the lawmower, and woke up a nest of ground hornets. She was hit about 15 times and had to go to emergency for treatment. I know they do a lot of good, but I wish they weren't so easily "irritated".
An incredibly detailed shot Carol. Never thought about them having those hairs on their bodies.

Awesome detail in these Carol, you've really excelled yourself here and set some high standards. I'll make an exception here and vote for this wasp, with me being a big Gloucester Rugby fan that is no easy thing to do!!!
