The bg for me is too busy with the twigs etc and should really be all of the same tone. Also I dont think any of the web is in focus. Try to make the subject bigger and view from a more oblique - I have some in my pf and would welcome your feedback too.

Hope you dont mind the comments

Ian, Thanks for your comments. I used the background for effect the web was about 20 feet away from hence the 200mm and not the micro nikkor 100mm. I was limited in the angle from the position I was in. an oblique acute angle would have been preferredSmile
