There's a constant struggle in my house as my better half strives to throw out our dying flowers before I get at them with my camera.
If you ask me, flowers usually look far more interesting a few days past their 'best' ... of course that may be a psychological issue I need looked at.
On a critical note, I can't decide if this would work better (assuming it works at all) cleaned up a bit - removing perhaps the longer yellow shadow or the stem to the edge of frame.
I'd appreciate any comments.

I'd have a re-think about the crop - it looks to me like a chunk off the bottom and left would help
the subject itself is what it is, a crumpled flower, so I think the processing is fine - kinda blurred and knarled, some nice lines in the petals
Featured e2 photo at the moment.
No cleanup necessary but I'd crop away some of the white space, too. The roughness works well to create a sort of surreal, hung-over, no-turn-the-lights-off-it's-too-bright feel that's very effective. A bit more detail in the 'nose' would be nice -- just to about the same level as the petals.
