A return to a location a year on with frost on the ground & the low morning light casting long shadows.

Thanks for looking

The mono certainly makes the image that bit more special, nicely done.

This is absolutely stunning. Love the composition of the tree and the long shadow cast and like the way you have given the shodow as much importance as the tree itself. The sheep add just that little bit of interest to breat up the expance of white and it may be the pattern of the snow on the ground but love the grainy effect too.

Excellent shot - should do very well

Many thanks to all for your clicks & comments, & especially to Ian for taking the interest to do some mods. I thought about boosting the contrast to make the most of the shadow, but went for subtle & soft instead.

Great shot.
Well picked out from the landscape, and you've made great use of the long shadows.

Cheers Rich. Just realised following your post that I have indicated that I used a 17-40 lens- that would have had to have been quite a crop! Now corrected to 70-200mm!

The composition works for me, as well as the soft grey tones. I think you were right not to boost the contrast, and as the image as it stands makes for a lovely scene.

The graphic quality of the view point also makes the image work, as too the scattering of sheep and the solitary tree.
