Another mono effort. Very quick upload & run before my dodgy laptop battery expires in a pub in Ambleside.

Thanks for looking

Tree or bird? Anyway, a class image. Flat battery, good excuse to go down to the bar!

Glad you spotted the bird, Graham! Bird or tree- whichever you like. Battery still hanging on!

Great shot, where were you when you took it!! I love the tree but the tracks add a lot to the image for me.

very well seen image, the shadow top right needs to go though (IMHO)

Very well seen. Very effective shot. I probably agree with 'pink' that it would work even better without the shadow top right.

I love this. The long shadow cast by the tree is unbelievable. It works supremely well in black and white. Very nice work. Andy

I really like this - the angle, composition, texture, tone. I agree about the shadow top right, but it's a cracking image. And there are a lot worse places to be stuck when an iffy laptop battery dies!

Wow! Really pleased with the response to this. It was quite a quick edit & upload & of the several shots I took, I think I have some better compositions- including without the top left shadow!

Well deserved award here, a great show on a fine lone tree, straight into the diagonal, beautiful image.
