I'm going back to Hong Kong and back to last year's summer for this upload. The summers in Hong Kong are incredibly hot, ridiculously humid and extremely wet but the skies are blue and the wind comfortable - perfect pool or water sport weather! My positive outlook on Hong Kong summers is slightly biased as I've been on holiday for the past few summers. Being suited and booted in this weather can't be too enjoyable!
However, Hong Kong does get hit by some pretty intense typhoons every summer. You can almost guarantee about 4 days off work due to the typhoons every summer. I guess the workers can't complain too much then..
With these typhoons comes some pretty severe winds and large amounts of rain, which creates totally different photo opportunities. I can't remember why I was out in this typhoon and with my camera to boot but I'm glad I was. In one hand I had my huge golf umbrella, that wasn't really protecting me from the rain because it was getting battered about by the wind, and with the other hand I was attempting to get my camera out from my backpack - quite the pickle! However, after succeeding and stay relatively dry, I had the camera in one hand and managed to quickly take this snap as the guy was walking towards me - I wonder what he was talking about on the phone under there..?
So, just because it's raining outside it shouldn't stop you from going out and taking photos. The different weather can provide something that is totally different and unexpected - just wrap up!
