Hong Kong is small, very small. It is also home to thousands of small family run business as well as large chains all of which are vying to impress any potential customer. One way, which must now be a look synonymous with Hong Kong, are all the hanging advertising boards. These boards are constructed anywhere and everywhere possible.
Walk down any street in Kong Kong and you will understand what I mean. There are, of course, places where these advertising boards are more populous. Kowloon and Tsim Sha Tsui are a prime examples. What makes these boards even more fascinating is that at night time they all come to life and light up any street they occupy.
Living in Hong Kong you take these daily occurrences for granted - it's only when you stop and consider what your seeing do you realise how cool this place really is!
Any thoughts on the photo would be greatly appreciated.

Superb shot, i am sure the night life there is great! these boards make the a city like a X-mas tree and i think this is a big attraction for the people who travel there...However, i love the lights here and i really appreciate the depth here over the whole pic!
Gabriel
it captures Hong Kong well, Ben. The busy photo reflects the busy place. I have been there twice, just for a few days on the way back from NZ. Quite a culture shock after the wide open spaces of NZ. The first time I coped with it OK, the second time I could'nt wait to get away.
It's a good shot.
best wishes
Catherine
Thanks for the comments and feedback.
Quote: but it is a very busy image and I am unsure what you are actually trying to focus on.
It's funny you should say that Frank because I didn't actually have a subject in mind when I took the photo. This is what Hong Kong, a crazy tight, and chaotic place is really like. The fact that the photo is busy exactly what I was after however your point about creating a focal point around a single sign is definitely something I'll be thinking about next time I take a photo like this.
Catherine - Yes I can imagine it is a culture shock coming from the vast openness of NZ. Growing up in Hong Kong (British parents though) I absolutely love Hong Kong and the chaotic city.
I feel so much at home there; in a place that hardly switches off and is always bust that must sound strange. I guess it's just what your used to.
