This is my first attempt at this type of shot.
The model is my wife, who does not normally like having her picture taken.
This was taken using Interfit studio flash and I have little experience of setting this up, but I hope you like the results. My wife was very pleased.

As its your first attempt I'll be gentle...
You've made a good start ....but...well it is a critique site.....
She doesn't look very comfortable...a little self conscious (the clenched fist, holding herself a little too tight ..She has a nice face so I think you should make more of that.
I don't like seeing all the creases on the back drop ..its too distracting, think about the light and shadow to give a more creative effect.....see Funkledinks PF...he's the master.
Use a larger aperture to achieve depth of field...always focus on the eyes , relax your model and take photo's that show character....

For your first attempt and your wifes first sitting, this aint a bad shot at all !!
I like the simplicity of the shot - no fancy clothing or make up, no stunning supermodel, just a really attractive lady looking good for the camera, producing a very pleasing picture.
For me, I love the fact that she has practically bared all but shown nothing - fantastic!
In my very humble opinion, I think the left leg should have been outstretched slightly further and the floor of the back drop less creased.
Lets see some more with your wife a tad more relaxed please.
RE ANY criticism - Never ever be put off by any criticism, you will never ever please everybody! Not everybody sees what you do or appreciate the work which has gone in to the shot!
Remember, its you that gives the value to to other peoples opinion - I always look at the PF of people who criticise, 9 times out of 10 they aint never got a studio shot - just a yet another sunset, a fluffy puppy or wedding 'snaps' !!
Look at hoffy, dudler & bumpynut for inspiration - but remember this is just the VERY humble opinion of a wannabe photographer !!

For a first try you sure have don extremely well. But I must say your wife looks like a prefect model, and it must also be a first for her.
Her discreet poses are so erotic, and I bet you are tempted to encourage her to expose more of her lovely features, particularly the breasts.
