Storm on the Firth of Clyde

Storm on the Firth of ClydeAn excellent image Kate, composed very well. It isn't very often I do a mod but I liked this one that much I couldn't resist. Just had a play with the curves on different areas of the image. I tried also a luminosity mask to try and get the sea on the sand to reflect a little. I think digital_boi has done the best one but the sky from Dave is fantastic.
I have still got lots to learn in the processing side of things but the best way I learnt was youtube. There is loads of photoshop tutorials on there.Grin
Already looking forward to your next imageWink

Overlooking Eigg & Rhum

Overlooking Eigg & RhumI think you have over compensated on the filters. To get the correct filter I always use spot metering to take a reading of the sky and then take a reading of a mid tone colour on the ground. What ever the difference will usually tell me what filter to use. Regarding the magenta are you using Cokin p filters? I use them and I have the same issues with the magenta cast.
On a more positive note as with all your images the comp is spot on and this looks like anther great place to visit.Grin

My Tern For Lunch

My Tern For LunchAn excellent image with a good subject and comp. My only advice is that be very careful when you are sharpening an image as this one looks like you have over done it slightly which is probably why there is a slight halo around the post.Wink

Wollaton Hall

Wollaton HallI don't care for V2 and 3 if I'm honest. However V1 is excellent and you have done a good job in the processing to bring out the wonderful detail in the Hall. I'm just wondering, did you take any images of the hall at the top of the steps as the tree branches are covering the main subject?
Also, I'm not sure if its my eyesight but the image could do with levelling up a bit as it seems to be tilting to the right. Wink

Cygnets

CygnetsThis IS one of your best pics. The pov of the cygnets is perfect and the slight bluriness adds a nice feel to it. However, my only criticism is that down both sides there is two dark patches, probably two other birds trying to get into the frame. But these can quite easily be removed in photoshop. If I get time I will have a playSmile

Night dubai....

Night dubai....Lovely picture. The lights from the buildings and on the reflections look great. However I personally would've moved the camera up a little so you got the top of the buildings in the image too. By doing this also you wouldn't get the bottom quarter of the image in as this would be a good thing because it there is just black and doesn't contribute anything to the image. I am only a beginner in photography myself so I am no expert really so some people may disagree. I would definitely have given your image a vote thoughGrin
