Apologies to the handful of people who clicked on a previous version of this. Just wasn't quite happy with it before.
Now I am.
Thanks for getting here.
I hope you like what you see.
Super-perigee full moon over Avonmouth Docks.
Not surprised Bill - it's superb!!!!!
You have just made my day!
Thank you so very, very much, mate.
It's an honour to receive your award!
It's well deserved - superb tones throughout with the exposure handled perfectly. Pin sharp where it needs to be with very little noise elsewhere - spot on!
It took a bit of fiddling, but I finally got it to what it looked like!
I've been struggling with this for over a week, knowing there was a cracker in there.
A completely unplanned shoot, too! We were on the way too the car and then suddenly it was a race to test the exposure, set up and shoot before the moon rose out of frame.
Not too sure if anyone else will turn up, though! Not many did the first time round: Ha ha!
I'm off to eat, so catch up later
The moon makes the shot Bill and it's very well handled. I trust that Mrs Gruff is well pleased with the result?
I am so very glad you dropped by, Dave!
And thank you very much for your compliment! Not to mention your very helpful advice
Mrs. Gruff is well pleased, I am glad to say.
I am well pleased with the result, too; in fact delighted.
An excellent pano. Amazing detail and love the moon.......Sandy
Cheers all...well, few!
Had hoped more people would have noticed. Ah, well; can't win 'em all
Agree with Paul re the details and tones and Dave re the moon. Well worked Bill.
Oh - but I've noticed, although belatedly, and I love it! Great shot!
Thank you Richard and Ann.
This is VERY special indeed. A wondrous b/w and everything looks perfect to me. You should be very proud.
Thanks Sue for your very kind words.
I am indeed very proud of this.
I have been looking for ages now without commenting (not sure if the views show up as I am not an E2 member) but although I like this (very much) the colour just has the edge for me Bill.
Great pano but I hate having to use that scroll thing to go across the page...my monitor is a wide one just wish when I press large that scroll thing pops up (unless I am setting up epz incorrectly?) and it takes the impact out your large view...I mean the image btw...lol !
Thanks very much Al!
My own preference is the mono you see here. Although I do like the colour very much, and which I did first.
Seems like a 60-40 split in favour of colour at the moment!
I know what you mean with scrolling panos now that the gallery has been updated! I think they used to work better before!
I always re-size pano jpegs to 1800px maximum and they fit nicely in the epz window on my home monitor. Scrolling will be necessary unfortunately if your screen resolution is smaller than this, despite being a wide-screen monitor. You may be able to alter this is the screen/graphics card can support a higher resolution. My home est up runs at 1900x1280px. The work screen I'm using here only supports 1280x1024px, which means having to scroll - a real bore, as you say. And not everyone will have a wide-screen, high res monitor avaiable, so inevitably some compromises must occur with the deliverable jpeg output.
You could always buy a fine-art print for the full glory !! It's 37.2"x12.4"
