Many thanks to all who dropped by yesterday and especially to Zoran and Yung for their UA's, which were a very nice surprise.
Here's a little something from my first ever trip to Hartland Quay.
Didn't find the spines of rock that are apparently a characteristic of this location, as the tide was too high to explore the shoreline much. And since everyone and their dog has photographed them I didn't mind too much!
It's a marvellous place full of photographic opportunities to which I must return, I think.
As it turned out the sky was incredibly overcast with a very flat, almost motionless sea and the hoped for sunset didn't exactly materialise.
Still, I was there so I thought I'd try to come away with something. One has to make the most of one's opportunities I find.
Tried a few things out before going for a very nice pint, where we met a local artisan and photographer, Rob Seymour, and fell into a lovely evening of good conversation and good ale before returning to the family shoe-box for dinner. Good to meet you Rob!
For this image I found the conditions really conducive to the big stopper.
I like it a lot...maybe one or two others will too!
It's got a kind of clean simplicity to it.
