Thank you for all your kind words and votes on my image yesterday, always appreciated.
This one is from the same place and yes I have attempted it in mono hand-held and pretty much straight out of the cam' - really out of my comfort zone here though ....
Thanks as always for your time, your thoughts/comments are very welcome
Regards - Sarah J x
Excellent image - great POV. Works really well in B/W.
i really like this, it makes for a superb abstract, very well spotted and very well taken
I have seen this in colour but the other day but from the top, It looks just as good from the bottom
wow this is one for the TATE..... great work Sarah, I would love this on my wall
Great architectural abstract!
I like this too Sarah, great in mono.
Great shot Sarah. Excellent pov and composition of the image - it is particularly effective in B&W.
nice POV but for me doesnt have the same appeal as the colour shot.lesley
A very striking graphic, Sarah!
All the more so since it seems, to me at least, that you have abandoned the HDR approach. Which is a good thing in my book!
This is beautifully framed, shot and coverted.
For me, this is possibly the best I've seen in your PF to date.
Thank you for your votes and comments
Lesley - I prefer the colour too but for me this was about getting out of my comfort zone and trying something new. I had some great critique yesterday from Ian (Take-a-View) on my PF - Mono has always scared me a bit so I took the 'Bull by the horns' so to speak - don't know if I'll do it again though
Edit: Thank you Bill, that means a lot Sir!
This works really well in mono, nice clean lines and a marked change from your HDR work.
This really is that good!!
Thank you John, appreciated!
Bill - wow I shall have to come out of my comfort zone more often, thank you so much for your award, am really chuffed
As good in mono Sarah, it is so photogenic. Ron.
Love this , perfect in mono.
Quote: Wow this is one for the TATE.....
Yep, I have to agree. Have a "Hanners" for what it's worth
Thank you so much guys!
Tony - what can I say? Your 'Hanners' is worth a lot to me! Thank you so very much
This is fantastic Sarah, and well spotted. Worked well in mono, so beautifully composed.
brilliant, brilliant, brilliant
It's a cracker, Sarah.
I really hope this does well for you.
You have a gift for composition.
Personally, I think the HDR stuff isn't worthy of your talent. Trust your instincts; they will serve you well, and not 9 shots at 1ev (or whatever it is you've been using)!!!
All the very best
Mono works well here.
Nothing wrong with this Sarah, you should come out of your comfort zone more often. I prefer this version to the colour one previously uploaded. Cracking mono!
A great abstract Sarah - well converted, has a raw quality...
I've seen a similar shot looking up at this structure in colour but your mono has far, far more impact. The strong diagonal works well too. Beautiful image.
Excellent vision that kinda draws you in.
And this is much better than the previous because you've left out all that clutter.
Nice reflection and geometry in this and like the fact that you presented in mono.
The others have said it all Sarah, this is superb and yes you must get out of your comfort zone much more often.
A great Art Deco feel to this. Lovely. Very streamlined.
An excellent abstract Sarah.Superb.
There's no doubting it Sarah, you have a very good eye. This is a fantastic composition, very cleanly taken and makes a wonderful abstract image. I'm so glad you went downstairs and took this shot. Its quite different to your colour shot and works in a different way - this is clean, simple and intriguing whereas the colour image is made by the red and orange chairs at the bottom - I don't think it would work in b&w because of this.
Keep it up Sarah, I don't think you can go far wrong in this new area of experience. You can only get better and that is something for us all to watch and enjoy.
All the very best,
An excellent abstract image Sarah and for me it works so well as a mono. I'll look forward to more of your work in this new arena
very simple very chic
This is one of the best images I have seen you produce Sarah. It may have been simple in the execution but your vision in 'seeing' the image and the way you have composed the elements within the frame is outstanding. IMO the mono version is the stronger of the 2.
out of your comfort zone works Sarah,
get out of it more often this is fab
Thank you so much everyone, I'm really surprised at how well this has been recieved I should trust my own judgement more!!
Excellent shot Sarah; a great abstract feel to the composition and love the reflections changing from disc to disc
HDR, or mono you always come up with excellent images, like this a lot and yes I think you should trust your own judgement more,
Lovely abstract view. Well spotted.
super clarity good comp , great choice in mono
Tim, Geoff, Mick, Gazza and Tony - thank you very much for your time and comments, thanks to those who voted also
Black and white seems to suit the subject well - quite cool and clean looking.
Always wondered where this was. One like this did very well in my camera club for a long time.
ahhh this is wonderful sarah ,you should do more like this ,and leave that tonemapping alone, this for me is one of your best
very well done
This mono works really well Sarah and the subject is made fot it.
Thanks so much
That is superb!!!!
Stepping out of your comfort zone Sarah has worked and I like this a lot. I might possibly have cropped a small amount from the bottom. Some great reflections and the mono definitely gives more emphasis to the lines and curves.
Simply first class Sarah - like so much of your work.
Helen, Ian and Mike - thanks
Another cracking capture, Sarah, and again, top quality.
great work sarah.....clean, sharp and with loads of impact
Hey this is rather good Sarah, especially in mono
Following some time away enjoying photographing the lake district (no uploads at the moment - but on my wish list for the future) came to see what Iíve missed during the time away Sarah and came across this smashing mono image. Not all pictures work well in mono - but this does. No hesitation giving this shot a click. When you can spot a mono picture like this - you have landed!! Smashing piece of work.
Trev, Phil, Mari and Dave - thank you so much!
Dave - your user award really does mean a lot to me - a huge thank you
Very powerful image Sarah. I'm well impressed.
