Thank you for all your kind words and votes on my image yesterday, always appreciated.

This one is from the same place and yes I have attempted it in mono Smile hand-held and pretty much straight out of the cam' - really out of my comfort zone here though ....

Thanks as always for your time, your thoughts/comments are very welcome

A very striking graphic, Sarah!

All the more so since it seems, to me at least, that you have abandoned the HDR approach. Which is a good thing in my book!

This is beautifully framed, shot and coverted.
For me, this is possibly the best I've seen in your PF to date.

Outstanding work!!

Cheers

Lesley - I prefer the colour too but for me this was about getting out of my comfort zone and trying something new. I had some great critique yesterday from Ian (Take-a-View) on my PF - Mono has always scared me a bit so I took the 'Bull by the horns' so to speak - don't know if I'll do it again though Wink

Edit: Thank you Bill, that means a lot Sir!

It's a cracker, Sarah.
I really hope this does well for you.

You have a gift for composition.
Personally, I think the HDR stuff isn't worthy of your talent. Trust your instincts; they will serve you well, and not 9 shots at 1ev (or whatever it is you've been using)!!!

There's no doubting it Sarah, you have a very good eye. This is a fantastic composition, very cleanly taken and makes a wonderful abstract image. I'm so glad you went downstairs and took this shot. Its quite different to your colour shot and works in a different way - this is clean, simple and intriguing whereas the colour image is made by the red and orange chairs at the bottom - I don't think it would work in b&w because of this.

Keep it up Sarah, I don't think you can go far wrong in this new area of experience. You can only get better and that is something for us all to watch and enjoy.

All the very best,

James

This is one of the best images I have seen you produce Sarah. It may have been simple in the execution but your vision in 'seeing' the image and the way you have composed the elements within the frame is outstanding. IMO the mono version is the stronger of the 2.

Not all pictures work well in mono - but this does. No hesitation giving this shot a click. When you can spot a mono picture like this - you have landed!! Smashing piece of work.
