One taken on the trip back from Pitlochry in November. Me and Rich had a good morning here before the long trek home.
Thought the mono suited the mood in this one, let me know what you think. Thumbnail's not the strongest so thanks for getting to here.
Cheers for dropping by,
I love the water licking the rocks and the drama of the mono treatment mate.
Love it! Great atmosphere & detail in foreground leads you into the image.
Looks superb in mono .Composition is first class. Looks like Bamburgh area is popular on here today....Phil
Good contrast and depth in this Paul, and it was the thumbnail that pulled me in
Tis looking rather tasty Mr S. Works rather nicely in mono,
Although the absence of colour may fail to draw the masses in they dont know what theyre missing
Going large is a must as the full power of the image hits you, terrific Mr S
Mono works superbly - gives it an air of the dramatic. Terrific
Looks good to me Paul, mono does suit the image well.
Beautiful shot and love it in mono............Sandy
Compositionaly a very strong image with a good lead in. Plenty of mood in that sky, the bright patch above the castle works particulaly well.
Oh, my word!
What an incredible shot.
I love a good black and white image and this is breathtaking, Paul!
Especially for its really dynamic composition with that swirl of water against the sweeping curve of rock propelling us up to the castle, bathed in its Zeus-like thunderous glory!
Where we would normally strive to avoid burned highlights, here they work to perfection, adding a final cymbal-crash to our movement through the piece.
What I find particularly impressive is that the image is composed mostly of darker tones which you have rendered with great subtlety whilst still retaining a beautifully luminous quality. This is no mean feat, in my book! And one to highly applauded!
A dazzling tour-de-force which has gone straight to the top of my shortlist.
What Bill said.
Thanks all and a big apology for the delay in getting back, but an intermittent broadband plagued our house last night ... I say intermittent, I mean it was off more than it was on
Will try to catch up properly when I get to work now.
Heavy with mood Paul, great mono. Ron.
Seems that mono has become the new colour just now. Having said that this is very goo, tremendous blacks and lovely tones in the fg rocks.
Well, it seems you we only had to wait a few short hours for me to bestow my award!
So, with a drum roll, and thunderous applause, here it is!
I hope it's the first of many!
This looks good even on my rubbish work monitor this morning!
Would love to know your conversion recipe?
I dream of making images like this!
LOL ... was only an hour or two wait for me though Bill [PM sent]
Big thanks too for your UA, set my weekend up nicely now
Cheers too Ron and Dougie, have a great day fellas
Great image, lovely mono tones - well done !

Have to get fran to sew you some shallower pockets so you can reach your money to get a decent provider
This is lovely mate, the mood from the sky and light reflected on the wet rocks is nicely captured. Me, Zoe and the boys are off up that way in a couple of months - can't wait!
Really excellent when viewed large.

LOL ... she's a pretty good seamstress too, so that might happen
Strange though as Virgin are generally excellent for up-time, fingers crossed it's back to normal tonight!!!
Heading this way soon too Sean, can't wait
Thanks all for your time and considered responses.
All been said Paul, fine mono work.
Thanks Richard, have a great weekend mate
'triffic stuff Paul.
The conversion is to die for Paul. Hope that doesn't sound too dramatic but its the truth. You have managed to pull out a fantastic range of tones form the highlights right through to the shadow areas. Damn fine comp as well.
Cheers fellas, once again apologies for the delay but Virgin Media have now realised that there is a problem in the area and it's not with our box ... don't want to say I told them so, but ...
Ooh! Missed this - down to dear old VM
Can't wait to get back there!
... soon m'dear, very soon x
Seriously classy image Paul.
A big thanks Nigel for both your time and your valued UA too. Cheers mate
