Took this shot on a frosty morning as the mist was coming off the river, took into the sunlight to give more misty.

Hi Ben and welcome to EPZ and the critique area.

Nice capture this with the mist and sunlight etc, it has made for some nice colours etc. However there are a couple of points that I think need addressing.

Timing, please be careful when taking shots of what is in the background. Here you have a ducks head sticking out of the top of the goose/swan's head and a second earlier or later and this could have been avoided.

Composition, whilst the scene is fairly balanced we can't see enough of the main subject to know exactly what it is. The wide panoramic style you've used here is okay but for me there are almost too many ducks to look at and a crop would help make this less busy.

Also the image is quite flat and needs a contrast boost to give it more depth. I've uploaded a mod to show these points where I have cloned out the ducks head, cropped some off the right, left and bottom of the image. I increased the contrast and adjusted the levels. I then added a little saturation and sharpened.

Ben please remember that critique here is only the thoughts of the person providing it. The image is yours and it is your thoughts that count, all others are just ideas.

Hope this helps
