Ford Mustang rips up the Santa Pod Drag Strip during the 'Main Event' back in May. The car got really out of shape just after this, and even lifted a rear wheel as he had to back off. You might think that he would have aborted the run. No way, he was straight back on the gas, flying through the 1/4 mile finish line in just 8.5 seconds at 145 mph! On a cold track in the dark at 2130 hrs that takes some guts!

The shot benefits from a floodlight from the rear and a fill in flash from another photographer. 1/40 th sec at F6.4 was all I could get. I hope you like itSmile

BEST VIEWED...in person, full volume with 'Smell-o-vision' if you can. (-;

Excellent shot!
Unless you've tried to get these shots at the pod then you'll never know just how hard they are to get.

It's hard enough panning to catch a rally car let alone a dragster accelerating at that rate!!

Excellent shot and well presented, it deserves far more attention than this imo..

Top stuff.
