Darren Mcnamara pictured in his AE86 Toyota Corolla Drift Car at Rockingham's round of the D1GB Series this year. Darren was amongst the three D1GB drivers who travelled out to the US last weekend for the World All Star Finals. Competitors from Japan, USA, Australia, Malaysia and Great Britain all slogged it out in the relatively new motorsport of Drifting. Darren, from Ireland was the highest placed driver from the D1GB finished an amazing 6th, placing higher than the entire US field, with only Japanese and a Malaysian driver finishing higher! Darren was knocked out in the quarter finals by the eventual winner, Japanese Drifting Superstar Ken Nomura, 2004 D1GP Champion.

I have been following Drifting in the UK and Mcnamara has stood out from the crowd with his spectacular driving style, I am really chuffed to see him do well.

Hi Steve, I imagine that's Japanese for yanking your handbrake on at 60mph to get your car sideways. Did you catch the Finals on TV or anything? What did you think of the result? IanSmile

Well timed and panned shot.
Scott
