Hi, great shot, and as you said, it makes it a bit different. Well done, all your shots are great.
Thats a very sharp Robin!Great Shot.David
Excellent detail and a different take on robins. Tried to see if I could see you in its eye reflection, no luck.
My "standard practice" on bird shots is to tediously outline (select) the bird in Photoshop, make it a new layer via copy, go back to the original BG layer, clone the (here) green edges around the bird inward to allow a good blur behind the bird (to get rid of noise), return to the cut-out bird layer and use the Unsharp mask a couple of times at low settings. On some shots, you may also need to outline the eye and sharpen it a little more than the rest. Then 'Merge Visible" to collapse the Layers back to a single picture for a TIFF save that you later then separately "Save for Web".
There's a few other tricks I can tell you if you are interested.
Quote: Tried to see if I could see you in its eye reflection, no luck.
the black square in the middle of the eye is the open boot of dads car - I was sitting on the edge eating lunch at the time - the robin obviously got a bit for being such a good poser
A beautiful portrait shot, focus and detail spot on.
Well done on your Junior Award Charlie.
